Mr. Moon - Physical Education Department (All Grades)

A traverse climbing wall was installed in the Gibbons Gymnasium during the Winter of 2010. This beneficial piece of equipment will be utilized by all students at the Wrentham Elementary Schools for many years to come and will greatly enhance the quality of physical activity and increase the learning potential for students. Students will participate in climbing activities that are designed to develop different physical, mental, social and emotional aspects of learning. Due to the magnetic capabilities of the wall, Mr. Moon explains that “there will be opportunities to incorporate and combine different school subjects (including math, reading and geography) within certain climbing lessons.” The climbing wall will provide gym classes with a variety of activities including regular introductory climbing, obstacle course climbing, climbing wall scrabble, following a route map, and speed climbing.
